This is one of the first views we recorded on our vacation in Yalikavak, a quiet little town on the southwestern shore of the Aegean Sea, Turkey. The view is from the backyard of a condominium towards the shore and downtown. The muezzin makes his call from the mosque’s minaret for payers at five o’clock in the afternoon. In the neighboring city of Bodrum, the ancient Halicarnassus, there is a castle built by the Knights Hospitaller in the 15th century. Nowadays, it serves as a venue for cultural festivals and includes a Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Bodrum is well known for its young crowds partying at the numerous nightclubs spread along narrow streets full of merchants.
